To apply for a loan you must provide a copy of your ID, your latest academic results, proof of income via bank statements or payslips, an income and expense statement, an invoice from your chosen university or college for study and/or accommodation fees and proof of acceptance from the chose educational institute.
You can apply at any Nedbank branch near you but keep in mind, if you are a full-time student, you will need to be supported by a guarantor who has his/her main transactional bank account with them (if he/she doesn't have an account with them, they can open one quickly).
If you need financial assistance for more than one year of study, a new application for every year is required. Each new application should be accompanied by proof to show that you have been permitted to continue with your studies. This can be shown by providing them with your academic results for the previous year.
Making your repayments
Part-time students will be required to make both capital and interest repayments while they're studying, while full-time students can have their guarantor assist them with their interest repayments during their studies. They will only need to start repaying the principal loan amount after completing their studies.
